“The day after I Graduated, I started calling local med spas and salons so that I could check out all of my options. I kept calling, and calling with no luck of any interviews. Finally a woman called me and gave me an appointment. During the appointment she asked me to perform a Laser Treatment on her. Although I was not trained with the Laser Unit she had (was an Alexandrite Old Unit- they don’t make them anymore) I was able to figure it out because of the extensive and multiple units I had trained on gave me the skill and expertise to understand the different technologies. NEEDLESS SAY I got job that SAME DAY. She told me that the reason she retuned my call was because I mentioned I graduated from Canadian Aesthetics Academy and was looking to hire a CAA graduate because she was ready to purchase a new machine and wanted someone with vast knowledge in this area. It was the best compliment I could hope to receive as this meant she trusted me with making decisions for her to help her grow her business.”

Upon receiving my Certificate and Diploma, Canadian Aesthetics Academy admissions staff took me into the office and roll played with me so that I could ace the ‘Interview’ I feared so greatly. They called me one day later to let me know that a North York doctor called CAAI and left a message about wanting to hire one of their graduates because of our knowledge in the different IPL, BBL and RF Lasers. When I went for the job interview he tested me on 3 out of the 4 lasers I learned. I was shocked myself how much I knew. I guess you really don’t believe it till you experience it…I answered all my questions confidently without hesitation. I got a job interview with him for that Friday, not even one week after graduating!

I decided to leave the declining business of selling Life Insurance and Critical Illness for the reason that I felt selling this product was like begging for money and for a complete career change towards Laser & Medical Aesthetics! In Jan. 2010, I graduated from Canadian Aesthetic Academy Laser/Medical Course! Ever since I was a little girl my dream was to become an aesthetician. When I enrolled at Canadian Aesthetic Academy my dream finally came true.

I chose this school because it teaches the newest technologies in both aesthetics and medical aesthetics. I was pleasantly surprised with all the hands on teaching I received.  

My favorite course was medical aesthetics. My teacher was fantastic. I got to shadow him while he performed on real clients and he taught me a lot about the field. He gave me the confidence I needed to work in the real world because I got experience it side by side with him.

“My experience at Canadian Aesthetics Academy (CAA) has been great!!!

I have graduated with honours after completing the co-operative education program in high school at Layla’s Aesthetics, who was a former student of CAA. She had opened her own business and has been very successful since. When she had told me about CAA I saw the success she had and I have always wanted to peruse in the aesthetics and medical aesthetics industry, so I enrolled in Canadian Aesthetics Academy.

I have graduated 3 years ago from Canadian Aesthetics Academy and received Diplomas in Advanced Aesthetics, Medical Aesthetics and a Certificate in Laser Technician.

The teachers are well educated and I believe I have achieved excellent education and hands on skills at CAA.

I got hired right away after graduation and worked at Richmond Hill Country Club. The education I have learned at CAA led me in the right path. Now I have been working at Sanctuary Day Spa and at the same time I have been receiving calls from Donato Salon and Spa for employment.

I believe I have learned the most relevant and current aspects of Aesthetics. I have excelled in Manicures, Pedicures, Hair removal, Body Treatments, Facial Treatments, and excellent training in Thalgo, Bioline, Swissline, and BotarinX products.

The knowledge that I have in these services are present and advanced, with these attributes I would like to instruct, train and educate students.

The programs that The Canadian Aesthestics Academy provided gives women and mothers (men too) an opportunity to go to school without having to make extensive family and job sacrifices. Unlike traditional school with only day-time weekly classes, CAA have weekends and evenings classes to better accommodate those interested in learning about this profession. Class flexibility was the number one criteria for me when I was looking for a school, and a morning-only class best suited my time. It took close to a year before I decided to come to this school. I was allowed an education while still having time for my kids. You also provided one-on-one lessons and extended attention to those students who were struggling. 

The one uniqueness of this school is that the CAA allow students to practice with the laser machines. Honestly, I don’t know of any other school who would entrust learning students to touch, use, or make mistakes with a machine costing thousands of dollars. It’s a lot of money to invest into machines and students, and I’m sure it’s cost the school plenty to fix those machines.

My other teacher, Beverly, she was on the dot. I loved her sternness. She wanted nothing more than perfection and professionalism from all the students. Every class there I learned something new from her. I never knew that Tai Chi and massage therapy would go hand in hand. She often gave us reality checks and prepared us to see the aesthetics world for what it is. Not just beauty, but of health. Her years of experience as an aesthetician and manager were inspirational and eye opening. Thanks Beverly!
